In spite of the slews of new online
casino games being released weekly, if not daily during some seasons, at
least some analysts and experts reflecting upon the quality of the
internet casino world have determined that perhaps the software
development companies are cutting corners when developing new products,
calling out the trend with no soft air of forgiveness. A spicy and rather
disappointed critique on the matter was included in a op-ed article on the
Casino City website this week, written by online slots player and writer
C.M. Jones. Jones accuses online gambling software companies of simply updating existing games with new themes and graphics, releasing old games under new titles instead of developing new innovations for their players. Its not necessarily a new complaint, as many online gambling members have been voicing similar concerns on the forums and message boards in recent months as well. The problem lies in the fact that slot players now-a-days are more educated, and discerning than they ever have been before, and most are picking up on the fact that innovation is dropping off, falling victim to graphic rebranding out of sheer laziness on the developers’ part. The Casino City article, titled, “Are Online Slots Developers Becoming Lazy?” outlines the basic online slot, with a skeleton of rules and payouts, flushed out only by standard bonus games and prizes. The key to the future, she says, as well as what will be needed to get new members and retain them will be the development of truly original games, with creativity breaking the mold. Players DO notice the difference, and the stand-by safety mold isn’t going to cut it anymore. "It doesn't require a slot Sherlock to work out when developers have been incredibly lazy and simply changed the graphics on one slot to create a new slot," writes Jones. "It's time for the slots developers to sit up and take note and listen to the fans, believe it or not online slots fans are a serious bunch and well educated, it is only a matter of time before people start shouting about it even louder." |
