Though healthy partnerships between
online gambling companies are something that often end up being extended
when their contracts come due, one functional relationship between two
internet casino brands will be allowed to expire this week. The Canadian
online gambling software company Chartwell Technology issued a warning
statement this week that their agreement with Betfair would be permitted
to run out at the end of the month; they would not be re-signing for
another four year bout. The slack, according to the press statement, will be taken up by business developed through a number of fresh new partners, such as Casinos Austria, Centrebet and even Globet International Sports Betting. Based out of Calgary, Chartwell is known as the largest provider of internet casino programming in Canada, a strong position to have as the nation’s provinces methodically work to legalize internet gambling on a state level. The decision, of course was not necessarily Chartwell’s concern, in spite of this weeks announcement that they would allow the four year contract to expire. Betfair had already informed the internet gambling community in June that they would be switching from Chartwell technologies to Playtech services for their bingo, poker and online casino platforms. The decision seems to be professionally amicable on both ends, with statements released from both firms acknowledging the change. "We have enjoyed a very good relationship with Betfair and what we have learned through that association will certainly benefit us going forward", Darold H. Parken, CEO of Chartwell Technology Inc. said this week. "We wish them continued success and we have every intention of working with them again in the future should the opportunity arise." |
