According to reports, the Swedish internet gambling monopoly Svenska Spel has made an agreement that will secure into their ownership all of the rights and assets associated with Playscan AB. Partnering with ICU Intelligence to garner the deal, the state-owned online gambling monopoly signed a contract this past week to purchase all of the shares associated with Playscan AB, a subsidiary of ICU Intelligence. From now on, the Playscan entity will become a subsidiary in its entirety of Svenska Spel, one of the largest brands in the Norwegian internet casino market. Future plans for the company surround primary around the goal of making Playscan an operational firm, servicing both internal and external customers. Though the lists haven’t been drawn up yet, Svenska Spel has said that they intend to do some serious house cleaning, taking advantage of their right to appoint managers and executives for the new acquisition in the coming months. One spokesman said that the focus will soon be shifting to look more closely at Playscan’s customer base, both meeting their needs and attracting new business to the brand. In that effort, Ann-Sofie Olsson will be moved from her position as Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility and Public Affairs, and now is titled as the new acting CEO of Playscan AB in its entirety, simultaneously acting as the Information Director for parent company Svenska Spel. "The acquisition of Playscan AB collates expertise and technology for Playscan and gives us better opportunities to further develop Playscans functionality and application in new areas of the gaming market," said Meta Persdotter, CEO, Svenska Spel. "It also gives us greater capacity to continue the development of our gaming responsibility and our community commission at large.
