Though the changing of networks for online poker and bingo sites tend to be relatively regular, the switch-up of base software running an internet casino are far more rare. One such switch will be occurring in the very near future for the much publicized Grand Prive Group this month, as they announced this week they intend to substitute their current software provided by MicroGaming, to a much smaller provider, that of Bet On Soft. Many in the online gambling world are wondering about the change, primarily focusing on the size and selection offered by the new company, not to mention stability offered by the MicroGaming brand, compared to the much smaller game menu provided by Bet On Soft. Grand Prive should certainly be looking for all the good press they can manage, as recent months have done nothing by harm to their reputation and trustworthiness with the internet casino community. Surprisingly, the official word has yet to be released by either MicroGaming or Grand Prive. But the rumors spreading through the online gambling community leave little room to doubt that the switch is inevitable. A test program was reported to being run on the Grand Prive system for the Bet On Soft platform; no further details were available. The Grand Prive brand includes a number of internet casinos that are currently running a few games powered by Bet On Soft, such as Casino Grand Bay, Bella Vegas, Jupiter Club, Lake Palace and Roadhouse Reels. Individual sites within the gambling family are resulting in rerouting to Bet On Soft platforms, or experienced parked domain names, as the change goes through. One question arising from the news is what effect the recent drama that Grand Prive’s affiliate program has had in the last few months may have had on other aspects of the company’s performance. Their closure of their affiliate program in December of 2008 was drawn out following disputes with a number of partners who claimed they weren’t paid. The issue is in its final stages of resolution, an accreditation to the work of eCOGRA as mediator. Because of the recent poor publicity, it’s likely that Microgaming will see the move as no great loss at all. |
