Confirmation has now been achieved in regards to the move of a lesser-known online poker website as Lock Poker.com announced that they would be dissolving their association with the Cake Poker network in favor of a new relationship forged with the Merge Gaming network. No additional information was provided as to what might have motivated the management team for the online casino to initiate such a change, but it is certainly not the first move, as more than one internet gambling site has chosen to abandon the Cake Poker network in the last year. The most recent to do so was that of Poker Host, which ditched Cake in favor of Merge just last month. Other sites to have done the same this year include Sportsbook.com, PlayersOnly.com and Superbook.com, all of which are associated with parent company Jazette Enterprises. Lock Poker.com, though still growing in popularity, stands apart from many of their competitors as a No Download online poker site, requiring players to make no commitments or download any programming to their personal computer’s hard drive. They’ve been in business since their launch in 2007, and just recently added a Mac-compatible product to their poker platform. "I am very excited about the move to the Merge network and I will be working closely with them to further innovate Lock's product,” said Eric Lynch, the vice president for Lock Poker. “We will also now be able to offer great rewards to the North American market. Our philosophy is built on investing in the true poker player, and appreciating and rewarding their passion and dedication. We now have the tools to achieve that." |
